My first master dance instructor was the late Gary Kendell. I began my dance journey under Gary's tutelage in early 1997. I quickly joined his performance dance team, Boom Squad, which was based out of Santa Cruz. Shortly, we connected with some really talented local dancers out of San Jose and become members of Mindtricks ( Jedi Clan ).
Along with Gary and Randy (Bernal), I joined another dance troupe out of San Francisco called Nike's Culture Shock. At the time, Nike has sponsored Culture Shock so we were known as the Nike hip hop dancers. Culture Shock was known to some of the best dancers in the bay area at the time.

In the fall of 1999, I created nustudios.com because I wanted to share with the world what I was learning directly from late Skeeter Rabbit of the legendary Electric Boogaloos. My website contained simple instructional videos of Skeeter Rabbit teaching me his priceless dance knowledge.
In 2002, I started teaching hip hop dance classes part time at Mission College in Santa Clara.
